"Awana blends Bible teaching, Scripture memorization and tons of fun. Your church’s Awana ministry will impact kids ages 2 to 18 along with their families and entire communities while helping your church instruct parents, train volunteers and make your children's ministry and youth ministry all that God intends them to be!"( Excerpt taken from Awana Website)

A Message from our Pastor:

Dear Parent and Potential Clubber,

I want to let you know how excited we are to offer Awana to the children of our community. If you are not familiar with Awana clubs, let me sum it up this way. Awana is a proven children's ministry that trains children to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ. While Awana's main focus is on learning Bible verses, what keeps children coming back is the unique games that they play during club night.

Being a former Awana Commander, I have seen how Awana  dynamically impacts and transforms the lives of children and their parents. I have been involved in several children's ministries over the years, but I have never seen so many lives changed by their participation in a ministry. The training and message that your children will receive each club night is foundational to their spiritual development.

Nehemiah Baptist Church is committed to helping children know, love, and serve Jesus Christ, that is why we prayerfully chose to offer the Awana Clubs to the children of our community. We hope that you will consider joining us as we kick off a fun and exciting new year.

If you have any questions please feel free to call me at 787-4780 (home) or 890-1794 (mobile).

Looking forward to seeing you this club year,

Pastor Brian Harmon

Awana Commander 2007-2008

P.S. Don't be surprise if you child keeps asking you, "When do I get to go back to Awana!"

The Sparks club is designed to help children in kindergarten through second grade to take a deeper step into God's Word. Boys and girls hear the gospel message and have opportunities to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

Sparks club meetings are FUN!!!!. The combination of learning and fun create an exciting atmosphere that cause children to want to keep coming back to Awana.

Sparks Club nights are divided into three sections:

Sparky Sitting1. Bible lessons, teaching / Gospel presentation, song or praise time, as well as presentation of awards.

2. Handbook time- small group time and completion of Bible lessons from handbook.

3. Game time on Awana Game circle.

Truth and Training builds on the foundation of God's Truth taught in Sparks. The goal of T & T is to teach pre-teens God's truths to impact them to follow Christ in their daily lives. Awana goal is to train many of today's young people because they "will become tomorrow's church leaders." Awana's goal is committed to raising up the leaders of tomorrow-today.

T & T boys and girls will complete 4 challenging handbooks, several bible studies and activities that will help them to understand their topic better.

Each week pre-teens "get soaked" with Scripture memory, Bible Message, the Gospel message, awards, and team-oriented game and don't forget....high-energy-gut busting fun.
