ABOUT THE PASTORS

Let me introduce myself to you. My name is Brian Harmon. I was born and raised in Raleigh county and I have lived in West Virginia nearly all of my life. I graduated in 1987 from Shady Spring High School and served in the United States Navy afterwards. I attended Concord College and graduated in 1994 with a degree in Biology. I moved to North Carolina for seven years and it was during my stay there that I was called into Gospel ministry. I was officially ordained into the ministry on May 7, 2000 at Agape Baptist Church in Mebane, North Carolina. I received my Bible education diploma from Liberty Bible Institute, Lynchburg, Virginia in 2000. Since then, I have been planning, preparing, and organizing to plant and establish a new church in southern Raleigh County. I recently earned a Master’s degree in Pastoral Counseling in 2008 from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary with hopes of offering Biblical counseling to those in the community an our new church. I am currently earning my Doctorate degree in Education (Ed.D) from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. I have been married for 16 years to Leslie, my wife, and we have 4 children: Scott (15), Aaron (8), Brianna (6), and a 4 year old, Will.
Welcome Our New Associate Pastor (Dennis begins his ministry at NBC in March 2010)
Dennis Andrews is a native of Dalton, Pennsylvania and comes to us having served as a Christian educator and in pastoral ministries. He is a graduate of Word of Life Bible Institute where he earned an Associate Degree in Bible. Dennis recently graduated from Liberty University in May 2009 with a Bachelor's Degree in Religion. Dennis taught in a Christian School in Florida prior to coming to Nehemiah Baptist Church. An interesting fact about Dennis is that he enjoys studying American History, especially Civil War history. Dennis's greatest desire and goal is to see others come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. He has served in youth ministries at various levels, Christian camps, as well as in the pulpit. His ministry at Nehemiah Baptist Church will focus on vision casting and implementing a systematic educational model for all ages as well as visitor/new member assimilation. Dennis has been married to his wife Rachel for 3 years, who also has a Bachelor's Degree in Religion from Liberty University.
